Our Story

ChamberFest Brown County was born out of love; love for music, love for people and love for nature.

We are so fortunate here in Brown County to enjoy a wide variety of visual arts along with the natural beauty, but also an equal bounty of musical arts, musicians and live performances. We have the Fingerstyle Guitar Competition, the Ukulele Fest, the Bean Blossom Blues Fest, the Bean Blossom Music Series, the Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival, in addition to numerous entertainment venues, all of which are commercially and civically supported. A classical music festival seemed like a logical and exciting addition to Brown County’s musical life.

Our festival takes place in the quaint town of Nashville, Indiana. We couldn’t ask for a better location to host a chamber music festival, being a sought-after summer venue nestled in beautiful Brown County, and very close to Bloomington, Columbus and Indianapolis, all of which boast a vibrant artistic scene.

Our mission from the outset has been to inspire audiences in rural Indiana through classical music performance and education of the highest caliber. Music has the power to make us smile and move us to tears; it can transport us back in time, or inspire us to dance in the moment; for all our happiest days, and our saddest, there is music. ChamberFest seeks to provide the opportunity for locals and visitors to attend world-class concerts, informative lectures, and fascinating multimedia presentations through a collaboration with educational and civic organizations in Brown County.

Our collaboration with the community of Nashville, IN in all its diverse manifestations was crucial in bringing ChamberFest Brown County to fruition. We are so grateful and honored to have established connections with the Brown County Community Foundation, United Methodist Church, History Center, Presbyterian Fellowship, Art Guild, Playhouse as well as the High school and Middle school.

Lastly, an important word about RiverSong Music, Inc.. our Indiana-based non-profit organization which produces this festival. RiverSong was founded in March 2017 as a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing support, education and community involvement through classical music. Without the devotion of its dynamic Board of Directors ChamberFest Brown County would not have been possible.
